But they are still strong in at least two areas:

1. Over extreme NE Alabama from Huntsville to Scottsboro and moving north.

2. Down in Central Alabama across Chilton, Coosa and Autauga Counties.

Thunderstorms that had rolled across Blount, St. Clair and Etowah Counties either diminished or moved out of the area. There was much cloud-to-ground lightning when they moved through Etowah County. Vic Bell, our 33/40 Skywatcher in Scrougout, reported a lady was struck by lightning near Tabor Road. Medics were called and she went to the hospital to be checked out, but appeared to be okay.

These additional reports:

* 1.08 inches of rain at the Skycam in downtown Clanton and the temperature cooled quickly to 70 degrees.

* 0.37 at Scrougout, but Vic Bell is sure that 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch fell just three miles away in the Black Creek community.

* 2.00 inches of rain in a short time at Millbrook in Elmore County caused some minor flooding.

* An additional report of 2.50 inches of rain at Prattville causing some flooding.

* Several trees down from Millbrook to Coosada in Elmore County.

* 0.34 rain at Coldwater and the temperature fell to 71.
