Thunderstorms are into the Tennessee Valley tonight. They are the leftovers from a powerful MCS, or thunderstorm complex that moved southeastward across Tennessee earlier before weakening.
They extend from along the Limestone/Madison County line eastward through northern Madison and into NW Jackson County.
Movement is SE at 15-20 mph.
Storms reported at the NWS Huntsville right now with NW winds gusting to 33 mph and frequent lightning.
The intensity of the storms is diminishing at this hour.
Another storm complex is moving southeastward from around Jackson TN to just west of Columbia, TN. This activity will reach the Northwest Corner of Alabama around 2:15 a.m.
There actually have been tornado warnings along part of this line, but the storms have weakened a bit. They could produce some marginal severe weather through the early morning hours across Northwest Alabama.
