A line of low-topped storms (with virtually no lightning) suddenly started causing damage in West Central Alabama last night–first in the Demopolis area of Marengo County.
The line of storms swept northeast across Hale and Bibb County into Jefferson County.
These damage reports are probably far from complete but this is a preliminary check:
* 9:30 pm…wind damage, possible tornado at Demopolis. A mobile home was damaged. A chimney damaged. Numerous trees were uprooted and power knocked out.
* 9:45 pm…the Hale County EMA Director in Greensboro reported several trees down across the county.
* 9:52 pm…trees down at Faunsdale on U.S. 80 in Marengo County
* 11:30 pm…trees down in Trussville, Mulga and Bayview in Jefferson County. Awning torn off a building on Warrior River Road.
* There will probably be other reports of damage come daylight.
