UPDATED AT 8:40 FOR MORE RAIN REPORTS

That line of SW to NE thunderstorms that formed south of Birmingham late this afternoon got tired as fast as they earlier grew so fast.

At 8:40 tonight, they have greatly diminished and this should be out last update on this particular line of storms.

The storms had much, much lightning and buckets of rain:

3.31 at Eagle Point in North Shelby County
1.12 Inverness
0.76 in Ashville in less than 30 minutes
1.84 at Alabaster in Shelby County
1.34 Meadow Brook
0.79 Jasper in Walker County (from separate showers)

There is still a lone strong storm in West Alabama along the Hale-Marengo county line between Demopolis and Greensboro and some strong storms over Extreme NW Alabama.

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Colbert and Lauderdale County, the two most NW counties in Alabama until 10:30 pm.
