JAN continues Tornado Warning for Clay, Lowndes, Oktibbeha [MS] till 3:00 PM CDT …AT 227 PM CDT…NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS CONTINUED TO TRACK A TORNADO. THIS TORNADO HAS BEEN CONFIRMED AND DAMAGE HAS BEEN REPORTED NORTH OF STARKVILLE. THIS TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR WEST POINT MOVING EAST AT 55 MPH.
It has produced tremendous damage all across Mississippi.
This storm is about to move into Alabama. It will enter Lamar Countyjust after 2:45 p.m.
It will pass near or just north of Vernon…perhaps as far south as Millport…perhaps as far north as Sulligent.
Then downstream…it is going to pass into Fayette or southern Marion Counties…folks from Guin down to Winfield then to Fayette need to be paying close attention to this storm and be ready to move to a substantial shelter well before the storm arrives.
