The SPC has just issued a new mesoscale discussion that covers northern Mississippi and northwest Alabama. They state that a new watch (likely a tornado watch) will be needed later on tonight, and fairly soon at that. This watch will likely include a decent portion of northern and northwestern Alabama, and additional watches will likely be needed later on tonight for portions of Central Alabama as well.
The main threat will be damaging winds and hail, but a few tornadoes are also possible, and a strong tornado cannot be ruled out especially over west Alabama where the higher instability will be.
