The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued Tornado Watch Number 891 which includes Southwest Alabama, Southeast Mississippi, and Eastern Louisiana. In Alabama, the counties included in the watch are Mobile and Baldwin. A line of strong thunderstorms was moving through Eastern Louisiana. Morning sounding data from Slidell showed strong vertical wind profiles and very moist air along the coast and into the Gulf of Mexico. A strong southeasterly low level jet will shift eastward during the next several hours maintaining the threat of severe thunderstorms and possibly tornadoes.
This tornado watch is valid until 2 pm CST.
