Severe thunderstorm warning continues for northern Jefferson, southeastern Walker and southern Blount Counties.

The storms over northern Jefferson County are still strong. They produced a funnel cloud earlier west of Fultondale near Lasseter Mountain and Brookside near Coalburg Road and Shady Grove Road. The funnel was observed by a trained observer.

The storms have weakened a bit but are still producing torrential rains and lightning as well as gusty winds.

To the east of these storms, other strong storms are near Locust Fork moving toward Hayden…they will also produce lightning, torrential rains and gusty winds.

An areal flood advisory has been issued for Blount County.

To the south…Jason Simpson reports a wall cloud to the west of his home in Alabaster. Radar shows strong storms from near Pelham to west of Montevallo.
