Severe thunderstorm warning continues for Marion and northern Lamar Coutnies until 915. The line of severe storms was approaching Hamilton over NW Marion County. The Detrout area should be especially alert as should all of northern Lamar County also.

Hurricane force winds are possible with this system. Take cover now.

Strong winds are howling all across North and Central Alabama. We have a recent report of wind damage not related to a thunderstorm at Bloutsville in Blunt County about 8:52.

Even where there are no thunderstorms, you could get downed trees and tree limbs tonight.

The good news is there are no tornado warnings in Mississipi now. Maybe the tornado threat is easing just a bit, but we don’t want to let down our guard, since straight line winds can be as damaging as an F2 tornado.

There are several severe thunderstorm warnings in Mississippi.

Severe thunderstorm warning for Oktibbeha County in Mississippi, including Starkville until 945 p.m. . Vivid lightning reported to the west of MSU. This storm has a high probability of producing wind damage. It also contains hail.
