Alabama is under the gun for some possible severe weather tonight so we will be on guard throughout the night. The Storm Prediction Center has the west half of the state under a slight risk of Severe weather overnight. A Tornado Watch is already posted for SW Alabama.

At 4 o’clock this afternoon there were light showers over Northwest Alabama but with some heavier showers over Southwest Alabama. There was a thunderstorm with considerable lightning over Marengo County and another heavy wshower along the Alabama-Florida Border.

By far the main action is more to the west, especially along the Louisiana-Mississippi border, right along the Mississippi River. At least some 5 to 7 warnings current in that area.

Tornado Watches continue for all of Mississippi. (A new watch just issued that cover the rest of North Mississippi.) much of Louisiana and NE Arkansas northward to almost Chicago.

Latest trouble is a Flash Flood Watch from midnight tonight until noon Saturday for a number of counties in Alabama, including most Central Alabama Counties. We will post a list of the counties shortly.

Busy, busy time ahead.
