No big change since our last visit around midnight except that the wind is not as strong. At 4:30 am, still raining over a big part of East Alabama down across the southern areas.

Heaviest rain was down south and also over Cleburne County in East Alabama along the Georgia border.

The area of showers over North Mississippi and NW Alabama triggered by a “cold” front amazingly slow about moving east. In fact, the front has practically stalled near the Alabama-Mississippi border.

The low pressure area over the North Gulf of Mexico is still there.

Many areas of South and East Alabama got substantial rain overnight. Over three inches had been measured at the Gulf Shores Skycam by midnight. We will post a selection of rain amounts later this morning.

Rain will continue much of today, especially through the morning and into the afternoon.
