Late this afternoon, the weather was beginning to settle down across Alabama. The strong thunderstorms over NE Alabama were moving into NW Georgia. There were some fairly strong storms remaining over SE Alabama. They were moving east.
A lone strong storm over East Mississippi was crossing into West Alabama along the Choctaw/Sumter County line. Most of the western third of the state is now free of rain.
Off to the west, a big group of strong storms continues along the Arkansas/Louisiana border. At least two counties in that area were under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning.
Interesting to note across the Northern USA, there were 8 different Severe Thunderstorm Watches in effect at the same time. This included 3 in the NE.
