I just got off a conference call with Faith Borden from the National Weather Service in Birmingham. They have extended the Winter Weather Advisory until 6 PM for all of Central Alabama. Temperatures are already below freezing north of Birmingham, and scattered sleet & rain showers are moving in. Matt McCracken, Marion County’s EMA Director, just reported that roads are beginning to get slick up that way with sleet coming down.
