Sure would like to know how many lightning strokes hit Alabama overnight. Amazing.

But take heart, the weather is improving, at least over the NW and west part of the state.
Just before 7 o’clock, you could draw a line from about Huntsville through Cullman and West Jefferson County to Tuscaloosa and Greensboro and most of the rain and storms had ended for areas west of that line.

Still some action over on the east side.

Tornado Warning cancelled for Coosa County.
Tornado Warning continues for Clay and Talladega County until 7:15
Flash Flood Warnings in NE Alabama for Marshall County until 9:15 and for Dekalb County until 10:45

Training thunderstorms is the reason (Thunderstorms moving across the same communities like a train.)

GREATER BIRMINGHAM
Rain has ceased over the west part of Jefferson but some heavy showers east Jefferson south and east. Birmingham weather should improve greatly between now and 8 o’clock.
