1/2 to 1″ of rain fell over most of north and central Alabama last night, and then temperatures began to drop quickly through the 40s. With temperatures this morning near freezing, even though the rain ended several hours ago and the wind has dried most streets, some areas, especially those protected from the wind, bridges, and areas where water ponds, are likely to have some ice on the roads this morning. So, please be careful, go slower than normal, and leave plenty of room between you and the car in front of you.
Wind chills will be in the teens much of the day today, and near zero, especially on higher ridges, by early Monday morning.
